Imagine a Mets FanFest

For some reason, this hasn’t been a big issue among Mets fans until now, but it has recently gained some steam, and now mets police and the 7 line are talking about organizing one.  I don’t know about you, but if I were running the Mets, I would make a fanfest my first priority after, you know, winning.  Just imagine it!  You go in and are welcomed nonverbally by Mr. Met.  You are in a world of orange and blue.  A giant baseball sits in the middle of the room, autographed by as many past and present Mets as possible.  On one end, Travis d’Arnaud and Zack Wheeler are signing autographs and discussing their futures, and on the other, Willie Mays and Tom Seaver are reminiscing about the good old days.  Over on the other side is Greg Prince, signing copies of The Happiest Recap: Second Base (due out around march).  Next, you see a discussion station, where hardcore fans are debating the latest developments concerning the Mets, facilitated by the Mets TV and radio broadcast teams.  Mike Francesa shows up and is promptly kicked out, unless you’re one of those people who appreciate the genocide of the letter R, in which case he can stay.  Celebrity Mets fans (Craig Carton, Jerry Seinfeld, Woody Allen) make guest appearances, Wright and Davis show up, sign autographs, and mingle for an hour, and everyone leaves with a free exclusive Mets giveaway.  What could be better?  Except, you know, winning?
